Well with the economy the way it is in the US, many people are traveling to the US to purchase their next vehicle. You can often find a great buy on a used car, especially the higher end vehicles. Dealers are starving and will do almost anything to sell a car. But statistics have emerged fro the Canadian Boarder Service Agency that indicates that Canadians are not being honest when they get to the boarder about what they actually did pay for the US vehicle. Even business men earning very good salaries or profits are thinking they can save an extra $10 -$20,000 on Federal taxes by giving a false purchase price, and more than not are getting caught. If you get caught they seize your new vehicle, hold it in the seized goods compound and then charge you up to 75% of the undeclared value to get it released.
It seems odd to me that good hard working citizen who can afford a luxury car are trying to cheat on paying taxes to bring it across to Canada. This shows that greed shows up no matter how successful people become.
